From prototype to production....

Start the Process:

Give us a call at 714-892-5336 and speak to one of our project coordinators. The coordinator will help you determine if you need a basic quote for part(s) manufacturing or are in need of our complete product development services.

Parts Manufacturing:

We offer complete part and component manufacturing services using a wide variety of methods and materials, detailed on the Services page of our website. Provide us your technical specifications, drawings, and/or a sample and we will generate a competitive quote for the manufacturing. Our coordinator will assist you in the transmission of the details and the shipping of samples to our facilities.

Product Development Services:

If you are in need of our full product development services, our coordinator will schedule a short (typically around an hour) free initial consultation with one of our design engineers. Most consultations will be by phone; however in limited cases we may be able to schedule an in-person appointment. During this initial consultation, we will:

• Discuss your project needs.

• Discuss our capabilities, and how we can assist with your project.

• Determine a course of action to move forward.

At this meeting it will be determined if more consultations are necessary, or if enough information is available to generate a competitive quotation for our services.  If more consultations are necessary, we will provide an independent consultant agreement to be signed by all necessary parties. This agreement spells out our relationship and details any consulting fees to be charged. A copy of our standard consulting agreement can be found below. If additional terms need to be added to the agreement, you can forward them over to one of our project managers for inclusion.

Project Commencement:

After your initial consultation, a course of action will determined to begin the project process. This process may consist of several additional consultations and/or a detailed project proposal, This proposal will provide a comprehensive listing of project specifics, timetables, and fees. We credit previously billed consultant fees towards the final project fees.

Deposits:

As most prototyping requires significant outlays of engineer time, materials, capital, and other company resources we will typically request a deposit for new and returning clients. This deposit typically ranges from 30-50% of total project cost for new clients and 10% for returning clients.  Exact deposit will vary based on the nature of the work performed, and client’s history with Empire Engineering. 

Project Completion:

Once project is complete we will notify client and schedule a completion meeting. At this meeting the prototype will be demonstrated and all technical papers and documents will be provided. Full payment for all engineering and prototyping services will be due at the project completion meeting unless billing terms have been arranged in advance. Payment may be made via company check for smaller projects and returning customers, and via certified funds for larger projects and/or new clients.
